Reviewing Oral Presentation

Hi friends,

Blog post 7 is about evaluation of our own presentation. I thought about it long and hard, but I felt that I could not effectively pen down my thoughts. Hence, I thought that perhaps the best and most effective way of coveying my thoughts would be through a short video clip on Oral Presentation. Below is the recorded presentation that I have made. Enjoy!

  1. Hello Alan,

Thank you for those practical videos!

Back to the review on your OP, I feel that it was well done on the whole.

Your voice projection was certainly good and there was sufficient eye contact. You did not let loose of any sense of nervousness.

However I feel that you could have injected more enthusiasm into your presentation perhaps by sounding more lively.

The message was conveyed but the impact could have been better illustrated to portray the seriousness. Nonetheless, A&A team did a good job on the whole!

  2. Dear Alan,

You spoke so smoothly in the presentation. Your voice projected well to the class. You stood close to your audience which shorten the distance between you and them. One thing I can think about is that it will be good if you can lower your pitch a little. Nevertheless, well done! =)

    Cheers,
    Jason

  3. Dear Alan,

I was very amused at your blog post, as you chose to do a reflection on oral presentation with another oral presentation.

As for your group, as I stated on your group members' blogs, my issue was more related with the content rather than the style of delivery. However, I also felt that your section was not delivered as well as it could have been, judging from your peer teaching which, if I recall correctly, was very well done.

Also, you made a slight spelling mistake on the evaluation of 'oral presenation' =p

    Regards,
    Aaron

  4. Hi all,

    Thanks for the encouragement.

To Jason: I am sorry for the high pitch voice. In fact, I did not actually realise how 'pitchy' I sounded like until I try to create the video.

To Joanne and Aaron: Indeed, this presentation was not as well as I had expected, especailly for my part of the presentation. Despite spending the whole day making corrections to the presenation slides as well as thinking about how impressively I can present the proposal, I could not reach a breakthrough. Nonetheless, this presentation has indeed been an extremely good experience to me. I hope that in future, if there are other such opportunities to do such a presentaion again, I would be able to gain experience from here and present better next time.

Once again, many thanks to everyone for the support and feedback.

    Cheers
